Rulers.2

Little dudes beefing it out with the big boys at the local ramp…it’s all good.  Tough for the parents to watch their little warriors grow some cojones, but good nonetheless.

Fire Island

This summer the boss and I went to Fire Island to spend the day with Pupkin & family at their rented beach house. it was a fun adventure, requiring we take a ferry, eat copious amounts of food and consume adult beverages. It was cool, a fun time in every regard.

LaManda, oh baby

LaManda is a spot we go to when we got the need to feed. Some of the very best Italian found outside of Arthur Avenue.. oh man…the antipasto, the ravioli, the bread!

Dave’s Fine Dining

Dave has some story. I am not going to relate it all here, but suffice it to say, he had a restaurant, he made big money,  he hated it, he sold it and opened his “coach”. The food is killer and Dave is the kinda guy you want to go out of your way to […]

fire, a boys amusement

when up in VT not too long ago visiting with Jason and family, he was kind enough to burn 15lbs of magazines for my amusement.

Aspetuck.1

A wonderful local orchard, farm, road stand kind of spot

My Girl, a custom rod

How cool, how well done is this car? Well, it’s damn well done and damn near perfect in my opinion. Props to the old dude who owns it.

collection obsession

He who shall reman unnamed, one of my friends, is into Simpsons stuff, in a big way. Check out the comic books sitting around…ha!

truths

Dads that take their kids fishing are rulers. Fisherman are optimists. Visiting the beach rocks during July!

Aspetuck.2

This local orchard, road side fruit/veggie stand is a great destination – and the apple pie – RULES!

on the prowl

the black bomber on patrol….

SoNo Crafts Festival.1

A local fair with some good stuff to it; music, lots of characters, beer, food and a laid back atmosphere. The kids crack me up, there is so much going on around them, they just  kind of blank out…. funny expressions on their faces…lol.

item of the day

I like trucks!

Bronx Botanical Gardens.2

i am telling ya – if you live in the NYC tri-state area or have plans to visit… make it a point to come spend 4 hours at the Bronx Botanical Gardens, they’re beautiful and available for your pleasure, year round.

St. Leo’s Fair.2

I love whack a mole, one of my best games, but am a little too big to really enjoy the Clff Hanger and Scooter rides.

Rulers.1

I totally dig these little guys on their scooters – hardcore in every sense of the word. Totally focussed on the moment, these little warriors hung with the big dogs at the local ramp and shared the space like champs – showing deference to the big dogs at just the right moments. Here’s to the […]

tough pick-em-up

I’ve been running most of my hot rod & bike images on 45dgree, but thought I’d share this with youse here. great attitude…

Lake Erie in a good mood

So, meet the mellow side of Lake Erie. It can be a wonderfully beautiful place when it is in the mood.

Savona Diner

On one of my excursions, I happened across the town of Savona and opted to dine at Mom’s Savona Diner. Pretty much the only thing in Savona. The pancakes were big and heavy, the bacon crisp and the cuppa joe, endless Think on this… why eat corporate crap when you can get food like this […]

Ride to Northern Vermont

Jason and his crew needed an adult chaperone to take them through CT, MA and VT -and so enlisted the services of yours truly. We ate copious amounts of BBQ’d meat, we drank just a modest number of adult beverages, it was a grand time and a great ride.

Santasiero’s

If you’ve been reading my crap for any length of time, you know I love food, I love to eat, I love local business and to wrap it all up – i love eating in the most local of all places, the neighborhood joint…. I seek these places out wherever i go eschewing “finer fare” […]

Breakfast @ Betty’s w/ Don

I was fortunate and had a chance to hook with an old friend from back in the day, recently – his name is Don. This consumate character lives in Cali and I can almost forgive him bailing on the East (East Coast Rules) because ya see, Don grew up in Lackawanna, a hardscrabble town on […]

wheels on far.2

as we roll forward this day, lets point the way with our front wheels…..
