Ride to Northern Vermont
Jason and his crew needed an adult chaperone to take them through CT, MA and VT -and so enlisted the services of yours truly. We ate copious amounts of BBQ’d meat, we drank just a modest number of adult beverages, it was a grand time and a great ride.

the Destroyer
Harley had a cool concept – selling “dragsters in a box” – so here, meet the V-Rod Destroyer. Pretty much a bullet proof and trouble free way to get into drag racing, this is a plug and play race bike, right out of the crate. I dont know how they sold or if they are […]

the solo ride
Nothing is more liberating than traveling far distances on a bike alone. Most folks I know don’t like to travel alone and find my love of it – odd. Don’t get me wrong, I love road tripping with my very best friends, but it is a very different experience when you travel alone. I find […]

enduro?
I’ve noticed alot of these dual purpose enduro type bikes out and about. I think many urban cowboy types are buying these stinkers. Is this is a replacement for jacked up hi-tone pickups, CB’s and bull riding at the local “git down” bar.

sex machine
MV Agusta, in all reality are the ultimate shit in many regards when considering a hi-style, hi-tone son of a bitch race bike that can handle the streets… Aprilla an Ducati are two more, but I am not thinking of them at this moment… And ya know, I can’t say with any degree of honesty […]

out riding in February
I saw these two red bike riding characters in NYC during February. A Ducati and Honda, both pretty modified cranking around midtown. I learned about the machines once i asked – as the owners started rattling off a litany of mods they’d made to their machines..cool guys, cool day in NYC and cool machines. Ya […]

buying a bike
Oh man – newbies – all i was missing from this scene was the “vroom vroom” sounds. We’ve all been there. Got to start somewhere, I guess. Tough to be badass in a polo shit and khaki’s, but if you got the cake……you can do pretty much whatever the hell you want.

Bimota DB6R, a true sex machine
Up at Bear Mtn. the other day, I saw an old dude….well..an “older” dude..riding what i can only describe as a work of art – truly this is a beautiful piece of machinery. This is a high-dollah collectible, a Bimota DB6R, a handmade, painstakingly crafted piece of Italian two wheeled engineering that is so far […]

Honda Street meat
Although i am a Harley fan and devotee, i am no hater of metric brands… at all. Owners show pride the same as the HD riders.. and here is a fine example…You can only imagine it is not easy to keep a nice bike in the city or keep a bike nice in the city – but […]

Vista Store
Want to pay props to the Vista market for their outstanding beer selection. I am surrounded by all manner of “lick her” stores” an for the most part – they all suck. I am sure they are good stores, but I don’t drink much but beer these days – and their beer selections stink. They vary in […]

Tasty Trumpet for a sunny, summery Friday
Here’s a tasty bit for your Friday! Ran across this red headed cutie. I love the older British bike look… spindly frames, massive drum brakes with vents, tight, small complex-but precise leak prone gadgetry… very cool. Maintaining anything more than 60mph for an hour on a stock bike will exhaust both rider and machine – so they aren’t really […]

on his own terms
Saw this bike parked in the morning and then out sweeping corners later in the day. The owner, obviously not a newbie cleaned and neatened up his VTX to be quite a respectable low buck custom hot-rod. Nice job.

bustin out
Shank, Pupkin and I busted out for the first time as a team a few weeks ago. Ran up to Huckleberry, it felt real good although Shank reminded us with fairings to hide behind and electric coats to swaddle our baby soft bodies – that it was kinda cold. I hear ya Shank – time […]

Nah-tin
Saw this piece of vintage British street meat in Brooklyn recently. From what I understand the owner leaves it outside year round and blasts about the streets on it like a man possessed.

slick Indian wearing skirts
Found this slick indian on the street when i was out running around on the bike. Owner told me it is a 1947. I see he made made some critical charging system updates – hooyah. The full face helmet is in questionable taste, but given his extreme class in rides..I will forgive. This was a young guy to boot…

dog on the move
So, one of my new customers has some funny ideas about tourpak Dog travel. Kind of odd, a little weird, but definitely cool. Rover just got his “doggles” so he is set for the coming season. Good thing he isnt a big big dog…he fits the box perfect.

Steve -Received my lock pouch today, fantastic, the fit/size is perfect and it looks great. Thank you for exceeding my expectations! BMW warrior
Saw this BMW, parked in the garment center under one of those “overhead” plywood deals. Chained up, ridden regularly – but treated well, this is a prime example of an NYC warrior. Enough dings and dents to ward off the trophy spoilers, enough class to warrant a second look. Good stuff!

a hard life indeed
Wandering around the city (with eyes open) causes me to reflect on the hard life everything in the city experieinces. This is no place for pussies, or pussy bikes. If you ride in NYC, you’d best be bullet proof, cause this place can put a hurtin’ on ya if your not up for it. Bikes […]

not-so-handy lift
*consider this a public service announcement or something, i want some brownie points damnit* Freddy was tearing into the Fatboy shortly before i came over to help him. This mechanical madness and associated activity is in preparation for the bikes first major rebuild since its birth in 1990. The bike is a bit overdue for some love and so…on the lift it goes, for total strip-down. Bike is on the lift, […]

Star report from IMS
I was at the International Motorcycle Show a few weeks back and happened upon the Star Motorcycles booth/display.This is a Yamaha company doing a Lexus/Toyota thing and i must admit, the Star bikes look very nice, if thats you’re thing. For better or for worse, there is not much of a chance of me owning a Star anytime in the future. I got H-D in my blood, as silly as […]
